Questions We Get a Lot
A pergola typically features an open or retractable roof structure supported by posts, making it great for partial shade and a more open, airy feel. A gazebo generally has a solid, fully enclosed roof and a more defined footprint, offering stronger protection from sun and light rain. Both are excellent ways to add structure and comfort to your outdoor space — the right choice really depends on how much coverage you want and the look you are going for.
Most of our structures are designed with straightforward assembly in mind and come with the hardware and components needed to put them together at home. That said, because these are larger outdoor structures, we recommend having two or more people on hand for the build. Reviewing the included instructions fully before starting makes the process much smoother.
Our hardtop gazebos feature galvanized steel roofing, which is designed to resist rust and stand up to the elements far better than fabric canopy alternatives. Aluminum-frame structures are naturally corrosion-resistant and built to handle sun, wind, and rain without warping or deteriorating over time. That said, we always recommend following the care guidelines included with your specific structure to get the most out of it season after season.
We offer free shipping on most orders within the Continental U.S. — please note this excludes Alaska and Hawaii. If something is not right with your order, our 30-day return policy has you covered — visit our Return Policy page for full details on how to start a return.
About Our Pergolas & Gazebos
A pergola or gazebo does something no patio furniture alone can do — it gives your outdoor space a sense of place. It draws a boundary between open yard and comfortable retreat, creates shade on bright afternoons, and adds the kind of architectural presence that makes a backyard feel intentional and inviting. These structures are a natural fit for homeowners who want to spend more time outdoors without sacrificing comfort. Whether you are creating a shaded dining area, a relaxed lounge corner, or a sheltered space for entertaining, the right structure makes everyday moments outside feel more like an experience. When choosing between styles, think about how much weather protection you want. Retractable canopy designs offer flexible shade that adjusts with the sun, while solid hardtop roofs — particularly those built with galvanized steel — provide more consistent coverage and durability through changing seasons. Frame material matters too: aluminum is lightweight and naturally corrosion-resistant, while cedar and other wood frames bring warmth and natural character to the space. Consider the footprint that works best for your yard, how the structure will interact with your existing furniture, and whether features like integrated netting or curtains matter for your climate and privacy needs.
